At Barton Veterinary Centre we take your privacy seriously and will only use your personal information to administer your account and to provide the products and services you have requested from us. We will never sell your data and we promise to keep your data safe and secure.
Any details you supply us that are personally identifiable will be held and processed in accordance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

How we collect data within our practice
The majority of data we hold within the practice is supplied by you, the client, when you register with us.
We will also at times gain data from 3rd parties – an example of this would be if you were previously registered with another vet and we gain your permission to retrieve this information.
How we process the data that we hold
The majority of time the data we hold will be processed under the basis of Legitimate under General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). This would be to communicate with you regarding, for example, appointments, boosters, results or similar. The form of this communication may be by telephone, mail, sms or e-mail. We may use 3rd parties to distribute our communications.
The retention of notes regarding patients is required under Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) regulations. Data generated will also relate to transactions when settling accounts. This information is retained for the use of our accountants and for HMRC. The holding of this data is processed on the basis of Legal under GDPR.
Whilst in the practice you may be asked to sign consent forms. We retain these forms as part of the clinical and/or financial records. These are processed under Legal for GDPR.
At times we will process your data on the basis of Consent. Examples of this would be when we enter your personal data against a microchip number or when we process an insurance claim on your behalf. Or if you have agreed to recieve marketing electronically.
How we retain data
Data is retained for 10 years after your last contact with the practice. Data which is no longer required will be destroyed. Some data we are legally required to retain under RCVS regulations or against HMRC inspection and will be retained for a greater period of time.

For purposes of this Agreement, “Service” refers to the Company’s service which can be accessed via our website at www.bartonveterinary.co.uk or through our mobile application. The terms “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the Company. “You” refers to you, as a user of Service.
II. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

The Company may use both persistent and session cookies; persistent cookies remain on your computer after you close your session and until you delete them, while session cookies expire when you close your browser.
