Reception

Our spacious waiting room has:
'Who can I expect to meet?' Ayesha – animal care assistant Beth – animal care assistant
Consultation Room 1
Our main consulting room is very spacious allowing us plenty of room for even the largest of patients (and it’s family!).
What happens in a consult? First we’ll welcome you and your pet, then we’ll have a chat about what’s wrong. Once we have an idea of your concerns we’ll examine your pet thoroughly (this may involve listening, feeling, touching and looking closely at all parts of your pet) after we have found out what is wrong we’ll explain our findings and explain what further tests or treatment is required.
'Who can I expect to meet?' Pete – Veterinary surgeon Clare – Veterinary surgeon |
Laboratory
The laboratory enables us to perform ‘patient-side’ tests where prompt results will make a difference to patient care. Facilities allow for emergency blood and urine tests, clotting screens, cytology and urine analysis as well as pre-anaesthetic and geriatric screening. Some samples may be sent out to specialist laboratories for analysis.

Blood, urine, skin, hair and faeces samples can all be examined in our fully equipped lab as well as:

Consultation Room 2
Our second consulting room is used primarily for admitting in-patients, nurses clinics and discharging in-patients at the end of the day.
Our nurses offer a variety of clinics including:
'Who can I expect to meet?' Johanne – Veterinary Nurse Laura – Veterinary Nurse Anne – Veterinary Nurse |
Dental/Diagnostic Imaging
In here we take our radiographs (x-rays), perform ultrasound examinations and take E.C.G.s (electrocardiographs).
It is also in here that we do all our dental procedures. As dentistry involves removing tartar which is laden with bacteria, it is vital that it is carried out well away from the operation theatre. |
Preparation Room
This room is always bustling. We take blood samples, place intravenous drips, perform minor procedures and examinations. It is also where animals are initially anaesthetised and prepared before moving through to the operation theatre. |
Operating Theatre
In here we do all the main surgery.
Neutering (spays and castrates), lump removals, anal gland removal, orthopaedics, ear and eye procedures, biopsies, thyroid gland removal, gastrointestinal surgery and many more.
It is an area which is kept bare except for essential equipment only, to ensure the room is kept as sterile as possible. |
Kennels
Our kennels are within one of the two original police cells in the practice.

Isolation
When we have a poorly animal with an infectious illness we use our other former police cell which is our isolation facility. This means it is possible to use ‘barrier nursing’ to ensure that we can prevent the spread of disease whilst also providing a quiet environment for the sickest of animals to recuperate. |
Car Park
Our private car park at the rear of the building has spaces for 10 cars.
